National
Junior Honor Society
The
national society was founded in 1929 and membership is one of the
highest honors that can he bestowed upon a middle school student. The NJHS has worked hard to bring the
accomplishments of outstanding students to the attention of parents, teachers, peers, and community. In
more than 5,000 middle schools across the country, chapters make every effort to give practical meaning to the Society's goals of scholarship,
leadership, service, citizenship, and character.
National
Latin Honor Society
The Association for the Promotion of the Study of Latin (APSL) is the nation's oldest private organization dedicated to the promotion and study of the Latin language. It was founded in 1929 by the late Dr. Albert E. Warsley. The Association governs the requirements for enrollment in the National Latin Honor Society (NLHS). The programs of the NLHS enable teachers to reward students for exemplary performance in their study of Latin.
Student
Council
Founded
on the principle of altruistic community service, we are stepping out of ourselves and leaving a gentle footprint on the heart of our world.
The dedication of our
STA Student Council is surpassed only by its altruistic tenacity - from serving our country's military, caring for our state's homeless children, filling the food pantries in our neighborhood, to bringing a hug to children in crisis. We are our brother's
keeper.
